Job Description

As an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) at Optimised Care, you will play a crucial role in the perioperative care of patients. Your responsibilities will include preparing the operating theatre, assisting during surgeries, and providing care during the recovery phase. 

You will work closely with the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary instruments and equipment are ready and functioning correctly. Your role will also involve supporting patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative journey.

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
Assist the surgical team during procedures, providing necessary instruments and support.
Monitor and care for patients before, during, and after surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective communication with the surgical team.
Participate in the ongoing professional development and training programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent.

Registration: Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Attributes: Confidence, competence, and effective judgment.
