Having an MRI scan is non-invasive and takes around 30-60 minutes. We use radio waves and magnetic fields to produce incredibly accurate images of your body. We use state-of-the-art tunnel scanners to diagnose conditions, or reveal the effects of ongoing treatment.
When you arrive, you’ll be asked to lie down and you’ll slide slowly into a tunnel. MRI machines can be noisy so we’ll give you earplugs, or you can bring headphones and listen to your favourite music, podcast or book.

Patient Coordinator
You'll speak to a skilled member of our team who will coordinate your pre-scan journey with us. Starting with your medical history, and they will ensure you are prepared and informed.
Pre-Scan
We will call to to confirm your arrival time and guide you in preparing from your MRI. Lots of patient choose to bring a pod cast, or there favourite music to relax to.
Consultant Radiographer
You will meet your radiographer to discuss what will happen during your scan on the day of your planned MRI scan. They will answer your questions and provide you with confidence that you are in expert hands
Post-Scan
Your diagnostics report will be sent to your General Practitioner, who can then provide guidance relating to your follow-on care. Equally, we can refer you in to a relevant specialist consultant at Optimised Care should you choose to progress privately.
